Ethiopian Mulugeta Uma has won the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris 2024 with a time of 2:05’33 (his personal best), finishing in front of Kenyans Titus Kipruto (2:05’48’’) and Elisha Rotich (2:06’54’’).
Ethiopia also tasted victory in the women’s race thanks to Mestawut Fikir (2:20’45’’) who was participating in her first marathon. She triumphed ahead of countrywoman Enat Tirusew (2:20’48’’) and Kenyan Vivian Cheruiyot (2:21’46’’).
In the parasports race, in the wheelchair category, the paratriathlon world champion from the Netherlands Geert Schipper was victorious with a time of 1:34’36’’. He finished 2’35’ ahead of Frenchman Julien Casoli (who becomes French champion) and Spaniard Rafael Botello Jimenez.
In the women’s race, Italian Rita Cuccuru triumphed with a time of 2:35’21, almost twelve minutes ahead of Frenchwoman Nadège Monchalin, who, at the age of 45 years, becomes French champion in the wheelchair marathon category.
